Questions about these plans?
Is this real insurance?

This approach uses a real private insurance policy, not a payment to Medi-Cal. The selections above follow the supplied plan rate sheet. Selecting one here does not issue coverage. Review the insurer, benefits, and policy documents before applying.

Does Medi-Cal accept these insurance premiums?

Yes—eligible health insurance premiums, including dental and vision premiums, can count as income deductions under applicable Medi-Cal rules. Your county checks the specific premium and decides whether your share of cost changes.

How do I know which amount to choose?

Ask the county how much your countable income is over the limit for no-share-of-cost Medi-Cal. Compare that gap with the eligible premium, not the total bill if it includes fees. You do not necessarily need a premium equal to your share of cost.

What happens after the insurance is approved?

Get written proof of coverage, the start date, premium, and payment. Submit the proof to your county and check the new decision. A policy approval does not automatically update Medi-Cal.
